Jane Curry

Managing Director

Jane Curry has spent over 30 years in book publishing, starting in London and coming to Australia in 1985 with Time Life Books. Jane was appointed Managing Director of Weldon Publishing in 1990, where she published many authors including Don Bradman, Pele and John Laws. 

Jane moved to Pan Macmillan in 1997, where she published her own list for five years before establishing Jane Curry Publishing in 2002. One of Sydney’s leading independent publishers, JCP rebranded as Ventura Press in August 2015 to coincide with a new sales and distribution partnership with Simon & Schuster Australia.

Jane has been an elected director of Copyright Agency since 2015 and is a member of Steering Committee for leading arts and culture think tank A New Approach since its inception. She is a former Director of the Australian Publishers Association where she was convenor of the Independent Publishers Committee and led the inaugural publisher delegation to the Beijing Book Fair in 2017.

Jane was a winner in the 2014 Westpac/AFR 100 Women of Influence awards.

Jane’s boutique consulting firm Jane Curry Advisory launched in 2021 to help people navigate their way through both Trade and Custom publishing.
